Early photographs of North Stoneham Church
The south side of the church photographed in 1886. Rev. Arthur Willis Fleming had died the previous year, and the new incumbent, Rev. Elliott Kenworthy Browne, found the church to be in a neglected state, and soon embarked on a programme of restoration. © The Willis Fleming Historical Trust.
A tinted view, from around 1900. The glimpse of the deer park beyond shows that the churchyard was, as John Duthy said, separated 'from the park by a light iron fence unobservable at a little distance'. In the early nineteenth century, the stocks were still located just to the right of the gate in the foreground. © The Willis Fleming Historical Trust.
The lychgate was built in 1909 in memory of Emily Macarthur. © The Willis Fleming Historical Trust.
